Postbyen 2026

— Postbyen: Something Between Us by Jeppe Hein

Something Between Us is a public artwork by Jeppe Hein, created for Postbyen in collaboration with Creator Projects. The interactive water sculpture explores water as a living material in public space, continuing Hein’s practice of works that invite play, presence, and human connection.

Set within Postbyen—a former industrial site that once served as the centre of Denmark’s postal service for more than a century—the work is embedded in an urban landscape shaped by transformation, where historic architecture and contemporary city-making intersect. As part of this evolving district, the sculpture functions as an active spatial element within the public realm, shaped by movement, encounter, and everyday use.

The work unfolds as an open and participatory environment in which water acts as both material and medium, creating shifting conditions for interaction, rhythm, and sensory experience. It invites visitors to engage directly with the space, activating moments of pause, curiosity, and connection within the city.
