When the passangers return to Copenhagen Airport, they have the opportunity to get to see this amazing art piece. Copenhagen Airport has acquired the two tons big sculpture by Danish artist William Soya (1927-1994). The sculpture was originally made for and installed in Kolding Library. Soya’s piece will be relocated to Copenhagen Airport’s new building, opening on October 1, 2020. It will be installed in the ceiling and will not only excite and inspire travellers but also the more than 25.000 employees in Copenhagen Airport. 48 square units have been put together and painted with four different colors on the inside, so that the natural light can shine through. As early as the 1960’s William Soya was exploring how art and technology could work together. Today he is acknowledged as an overlooked pioneer within the field.
