In the fall of 2019 Aarhus Municipality opens the doors to BLIXENS, an innovative and judiciously office building in Gellerup with 950 municipal workplaces, a police station, an entrepreneurial environment and a public accessible covered urban space with café and coffee roastery. In collaboration with art adviser Jens Erik Sørensen, former director of ARoS Aarhus Museum of Art, Creator Projects has developed an art strategy for the large construction where international contemporary art is now being presented in conjunction with a new suspension of works from Aarhus Municipality’s art collection. In an explosion of colour the German artist Katharina Grosse has created a spectacular mural directly on the walls. The art will enrich the everyday life of the over 1000 employees, the many public users of the building as well, and at the same time strengthen the position of the area as an attractive destination in Aarhus.
