Creator Projects curated the first large scale project in Denmark by British artist Martin Creed. The monumental installation Half the air in a given space consisted of more than 25,000 balloons installed at central venues in the eastern part of Jutland (the Triangle Region): the former ticket office at Fredericia Railway Station, Kolding Library, and the council chamber at Vejle Town Hall. In Half the air in a given space Martin Creed places a quantity of balloons in each space corresponding to half its cubic measurement. A simple action with considerable impact, as the balloon-filled space invites viewers to give themselves over to the space and navigate their way around. The expressive quality of the installation varies according to the nature of the sites and their individual architectural contexts. Moreover, the colours of the balloons have been carefully selected with each particular building in mind, which has resulted in three different and evocative works. The project had 7.000 visitors in ten days of display.
