Aarhus 2021-2023

— Aarhus Vand

Aarhus Vand ensures health through clean drinking water – for humans and the planet. Its sustainable development strategy emphasizes water purification and considerate water consumption in a dialogue with natural environments.

Creator Projects has contributed with art consultancy in connection with the relocation of Aarhus Vand headquarter in 2023, where the big new domicile invites to a lively everyday life in contemporary frames. The new domicile has been designed by CEBRA and the Executive Board has focused on involving all the company’s employees in the process of designing the new domicile.

Creator Projects has chosen to work with Jakob Kudsk Steensen (b. 1987, Køge, Denmark) whose artistic research is based on a study and a poetic interpretation of the unnoticed natural miracles bringing together physical, virtual, real and imagined landscapes in mixed reality immersive installations.

Jakob Kudsk Steensen  contributed to the new headquarter building of Aarhus Vand with an immense video work – Catharsis: Surge.

The artwork has been developed in close dialogue with the new domicile and represents an artistic reflection of the bond between technology and nature, that invites viewers to visually engage with water, the organisms it contains, organic objects and the environment, contributing to an understanding of the surrounding nature, which involves wetlands, lakes and water renewal that constitute a complete ecosystem. Catharsis: Surge is Jakob Kudsk Steensens first permanent work in Denmark.
